Wiring Variants

Updated: Mar 31, 2022

There are different variants of internal wiring to supply a house: for example, by means of network wiring (electrical) or by means of fiber optic wiring (optical).

Although both connections are widely used, it is necessary to establish the differences between the two in order to know which one to choose.

Let's take a look at the different cabling variants

Variant 1: Fiber optic

The installation of a fiber optic cable from the transfer point of the house to the living area (as close as possible to your router) is the optimal solution for unrestricted broadband use.

To forward the Internet service to your TV, PC or similar, we recommend network cabling if possible.

This provides you with a stable connection to the end devices, which is important, for example, for TV streaming, online gaming or video conferencing. Alternatively, WLAN repeaters can be used to forward the Internet service.

Fiber optic transmission quality

With fiber optics to the home, you have the technically best, most modern and interference-resistant infrastructure, which also supports future bandwidths beyond the GBit range. In addition, the network cabling ensures a fast and permanently stable connection to the end devices.

Of course, all end devices can be powered via WLAN.

Fiber optics is more environmentally friendly than the other connection methods currently offered by the various companies. It is also a type of connection that has these three characteristics:

- Secure

- Fast

- Efficient

Variant 2: Network cabling

Simple and fast connection. How does it work?

Simple network cabling is the quick solution. Here the fiber optic cable is terminated in the basement (or in the connection room of the house) and a network cable connects the signal converter to the router. This only requires a little construction work if cable routes are available. To forward the Internet service to your TV, PC or similar, we recommend network cabling if possible. This provides a stable connection to the end devices, which is important, for example, for TV streaming, online video games or video conferencing. With the network cabling up to the router, you have a fast and permanently stable connection all the way to the living room. In addition, the network cabling ensures a fast and permanently stable connection to the end devices.

All end devices can be supplied with power via WLAN.

In addition, the network cabling within the individual residential units guarantees a fast and permanently stable connection to the end devices.
